Article „Continued disputes regarding sales tax – who to blame?“ by Jaak Siim and Epp Lumiste
In the October 2015 issue of the financial journal Raamatupidamisuudised, an article „Continued disputes regarding sales tax – who to blame?“ by attorneys-at-law Jaak Siim and Epp Lumiste was published.
The article is providing an overview of the developments regarding disputes on the sales tax established by the City of Tallinn and the authors are analysing whether it is possible for the City of Tallinn to claim the compensation of damages from the state after losing several court battles. Tallinn is explaining the claim with the reason that in 2010 the state approved the EU Directive on Excise Duties insufficiently into national legislation.
