Article „Creditors of Estonian Air – unite!“ by Epp Lumiste and Häli Jürimäe
On 2 December 2015 the web edition of the daily Eesti Päevaleht published an article „Creditors of Estonian Air – unite!“ by attorneys-at-law Epp Lumiste and Häli Jürimäe of the Aivar Pilv Law Office.
In the article the authors are analysing the possibilities of the creditors to protect their rights with regard to the termination of activities of the national airline Estonian Air. The attorneys-at-law feel that the Estonian state has made a miscalculation upon terminating the activities of Estonian Air, enabling the creditors to submit claims for compensation of damages from the company. In order to avoid various solutions resulting in the submission of individual claims of creditors to court, the attorneys-at-law recommend to gather the claims of different creditors of Estonian Air and to consider submitting a common claim for compensation. Only such activity shall guarantee to equal treatment of creditors.
