LEADELL Pilv attorneys at the Arvamusfestival
Another Arvamusfestival has come to an end, and we are delighted that attorneys from LEADELL Pilv Law Office took part in various roles. The most prominent role this year was played by attorney-at-law Kaili Rätsepp, who chaired a discussion on working life entitled ‘Flexibility or control?’.
The discussion offered both laughter and more serious reflections. The prevailing view was that, although remote working is inevitably impossible in certain roles, remote and hybrid working are nevertheless the new normal. For the option of working from home to disappear, either a change of management or a technological collapse would have to occur. Furthermore, the panellists and the audience agreed that the boundaries between work and private life must be borne in mind and prioritised, regardless of the working arrangement. This means that employees are under no obligation to answer work-related calls outside working hours, and they can wait until Monday to reply to emails received at the weekend.
The panellists were Kerstin Jaani (HR Director at Coop Eesti Keskühistu, member of the PARE board), Leila Mäll (Head of Employee Experience and HR Partnership at Bolt), Vladimir Logatšev (Senior Legal Adviser at the Labour Inspectorate) and Krista Laever (HR Director at Orkla Eesti).
Artur Viira and Pirkka-Marja Põldvere also attended the festival; on this occasion, they focused on participating as members of the audience in various panels and exchanging ideas with the panellists and the audience. This, too, is a refreshing change from day-to-day legal work, broadening one’s horizons and enabling a better understanding of clients’ concerns and how to resolve them.
