Pirkka-Marja Põldvere appointed to the new SCC’s Arbitrators’ Council
The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) announced a new body at the end of September – the SCC Arbitrators’ Council, aimed at widening the SCC’s network of users and fostering relations with arbitral practitioners worldwide. The members facilitate SCC’s contacts with the users of our services through events, meetings, and publications. The Council members also act as SCC’s advisors with respect to significant legal developments in each jurisdiction.
The SCC Arbitrators’ Council consists of 10 members from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and jointly Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The members are recognized arbitration specialists in their respective areas and are elected by the SCC for a period of two years.
Pirkka-Marja Põldvere is one of the best arbitration specialists in Estonia, participating in (international) arbitrations both as counsel and as arbitrator. She is regularly lecturing and writing articles on arbitration and participating in the arbitration-related legislative process.
